Lathe- turned cloche

Cloche is the traditional name for what most folks call bell jars , There's your word of the day!

I’ve branched out into lathe work recently, and the first one that's come out satisfactory is this wonder, the Unicorn cloche! The shimmer is the result of my imperfctly sealing the wood chunk and putting the whole piece in a pressure pot - the air was forced out of the wood, and it just fortuitously came out as it did, and I feel it adds a wonderful otherworldly note to the whole.
